Using meteorological data to determine the risk of heat stress
V. Šleger, P. Neuberger
Res. Agr. Eng., 2006, 52(2):39-47 | DOI: 10.17221/4878-RAE
This paper first proposes a technique of computing air temperature and humidity in stables based on outdoor air parameters and biological production of animals. The computation technique is outlined. The calculated values are then used to assess the potential of evaporation cooling in mild climatic conditions. Graphs illustrate the assumed effect of evaporation cooling equipment inside a stable housing of egg laying hens. Used in the computation were hourly meteorological readings obtained during the period May to August in years 2000 to 2002, in the locality with a potential installation of a cooling system. Other Graphs illustrate the time the animals...

Res. Agr. Eng., 2006, 52(2):48-54 | DOI: 10.17221/4879-RAE
: The aim of this project was to carry out measurements of climatic process occurring in the glasshouse. This article describes the method of measuring the glasshouse microclimate using the Control WEB 2000 software and the ADAM 4000 series input/output modules. Control WEB 2000 is a graphic development environment to create measuring and control applications. Data acquisition was made by using the ADAM modules of 4000 series which ensure the conversion of data and their transmission from the sensors to the control computer. Soil temperature, glasshouse indoor and outdoor air temperatures and air humidity were analyzed during two summer months. The...

Res. Agr. Eng., 2006, 52(2):55-60 | DOI: 10.17221/4880-RAE
The paper deals with the analysis of the operation of a hen feeding line in the reproduction breeding hall at the floor stabling type combined with the deep bedding on grates. We have measured the hen feeding line operation time in accordance with STN 47 0120, the losses of the fodder spilled by hens during a single feeding and the consumption of electricity of the observed line. As a result of the failure to carry out regular technical maintenance of the line as a preventive measure against the origin of defects, a relatively low value of the productive time use coefficient (0.77) was detected. Based on the analysis of the consumption of electric...
Kinematical characteristic of mechanical frictional variable speed drive

Res. Agr. Eng., 2006, 52(2):61-68 | DOI: 10.17221/4881-RAE
The paper describes a new system of mechanical spherical conical friction drive. In the present a row of simple friction, belt, chain, wave and differential variable speed drives is published. For the required range of speed variation they are altogether unfit. The currently used power transmissions are of low efficiency (60-70%). Therefore the better power transmission efficiency is required. The possibility of multicontact power transmission appears as the most suitable principle of the power transmission. Using the designed function model, which was made according to the small tractor producers requirements, the real output kinematical characteristic...

a tendency to reduce number of operations by their association carries technical, environmental as well as economic aspects. Technical and environmental features are apparent and can be described with couple of quite logic positive effects and consequences. It is rather difficult to exactly identify economic proceeds that must especially be seen in producer's final perception (net margin). Methodology of net margin calculation is complicated and sometimes not fully transparent. A new (proper) methodological approach has been conceived in the concept of ATMP (Agricultural Technology Management Program). The Program is meant to provide the art of work...
